IWSA

The International Wing Sports Association (IWSA) has been founded to give the best wing riders a platform to compete in fair competition, managed by International Race Officials.

Members of the IWSA are national associations that govern winging in their respective countries. The members form the General Assembly of the association and elect the Executive Committee.

The activities of the IWSA include:

  • promotion of wingfoiling internationally;
  • holding a World Championship for the Formula Wng Class and a World Cup Series for the WingFoil Open Class
  • managing a World Ranking System;
  • developing the Class Rules and Championship Rules;
  • developing Equipment registration regulations;
  • representing the riders in all matters concerning the sport;
  • advocating on behalf of the sport with World Sailing;
  • the training of race officers, judges, umpires, measurers and other administrators;
  • the development of the sport around the world.

IWSA Executive Committee

The duties and responisbilities of the Executive Committee are to supervise the day to day business of the association as conducted by the Executive Office (Secretary General / Tour Manager)

The Excutive committee implements decisions and policy guidance of the General Assembly and working parties.

Mirco babini

President

(ITA) 

Mirco has been a windsurfer of the early days, including winning several italian championships, competing on the international pro circuit and campaigning in the Olympic windsurfing class.

He has been involved with kiteboarding from the very beginning, as marketing and sales specialist for various brands, competitor and later event organiser.

With the advent of wingfoiling, Mirco has been on the forefront of this new sport from the very beginning as well.

Mirco has professional experience in professional sailing including the Italian Americas Cup Challenger “Luna Rossa” and is always looking for future opportunities for the sport.
